In early February, our doctoral student from the Counselor Education and Supervision program, TinMuk Li, presented at the Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW) 2026 Conference in Chicago.
Presentation Topics:
• Turning Lemons into Lemonade: Using Expressive Arts with Individuals Experiencing Grief and Loss in Group Therapy
• A Group for Us: Empowering Counselors Through Wellness, Self-Acceptance, and Individual Strengths in Group Therapy
Through innovative applications of expressive arts and strength-based group work, TinMuk and her peers, Jasmine Carter, Kimberly Gray, and the professors Dr. Looby and Dr. Justice, demonstrated meaningful and practical approaches to supporting clients while empowering counselors in their professional and personal growth.
We are proud to see our students contributing to the advancement of group counseling practice on a national stage!
