Three-time Mississippi State University alumni, Dr. John F. Marszalek III, published a new book in May 2020. The book, Coming out of the Magnolia Closet: Same-Sex Couples in Mississippi, can be purchased from many retailers and explores conversations with same-sex couples in small-town Mississippi. Dr. Marszalek graduated with his PhD in Counselor Education from MSU in 1998 and currently serves as a clinical faculty member of the online clinical mental health counseling program at Southern New Hampshire University.
