Counseling Faculty and Students Present at ASGW Conference

ASGW Conference Attendees: Dr. Cheryl Justice, Lindsey Donald, Chiquita Holmes, Dr. Joan Looby, Tinmuk Li.

Three doctoral students and two faculty members from the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Foundations delivered presentations at the Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW) National Conference held February 17-22 at the One Ocean Resort and Spa in Atlantic Beach, Florida.

Presentations include Chiquita Holmes, Tinmuk Li, and Dr. Joan Looby for Expanding social justice using art, music, and cinema-therapy, as well as Lindsey Donald presenting Utilizing DBT group skills with at-risk adolescents. 

Dr. Cheryl Justice served on a panel discussion for the Process Behind ASGW Guiding Principles. In addition, Dr. Justice was a member of the ASGW conference planning committee.

Tinmuk Li, a dual enrolled student in the Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program, was selected as a student volunteer for the ASGW conference. She participated in a Day of Service Activities and delivered a presentation, Group work with members who identify as neuro-divergent, to supervisors and directors employed at JASMYN - a center for LGBTQ+ youth in Jacksonville, Florida.
