Educational Psychology Students and Professors Participate in MSERA

Drs. Kasia Gallo and Ling Xie led student researchers from the Communicating Science Research Lab in conducting a systematic literature review of higher education faculty's impressions of pivoting to online instruction during the COVID-10 pandemic. Doctoral EPY student Carmen Carter and EPY undergraduates Piper Doherty, Malerie Millet, and Kristieona Epting presented their findings at the annual meeting of Mid-South Educational Research Association in New Orleans, LA, which took place November 9-12.

Carmen Carter and Dr. Kasia Gallo presented a paper titled "E-Learning in Early Childhood Education: Support for a Best Practices Guide."

Dr. Kasia Gallo, Dr. Jianling Xie, and Carmen Carter presented a symposium titled "Writing Self-efficacy in Higher Ed Students: Why it Matters, How to Increase it, and How to Measure it."

Kendall Hill, Shayna Wood, Dr. Jianling Xie, and Brianna Holley presented a poster titled "Social Media and Academic Performance: The Role of Gender and Major Social Media Platforms."

Caroline Cobb, Marlon Boyd, Dr Jianling Xi, and Dr. Kasia Gallo presented a paper titled "Emergency Distance Education during the Pandemic of COVID-19: Perceived Teacher Support and Learning Environment Outcomes."

Kayla Hopper, Mia Spencer, Sean Ragsdale, and Dr. Jianling Xie presented a paper titled "Alcohol Use in College Settings."
